Academic Insights is a traditional, academically challenging and globally sought-after programme based in the inspirational cities of Oxford and Cambridge. This programme offers young learners the opportunity to live and learn like an undergraduate at some of the most famous universities in the world. The IELTS preparation programme is for students planning to take the IELTS examination, finetuning their English language skills and preparation for IELTS. The programme provides language support, as well as developing key insights and knowledge surrounding the IELTS examination content, marking criteria and examination skills, with a biweekly in-house IELTS mock examination and one-to-one tailored feedback from our IELTS experts. At the end of the course, students have the option to take the IELTS examination.
Running alongside the Intensive English programme at KCL, IELTS Preparation includes 17.5 hours per week of the specialist Bucksmore Education EFL syllabus, plus 7.5 hours of classes focussed on IELTS exam techniques and practice questions. The age range for students on IELTS Preparation is 16-18 and language level required is minimum B1 (Intermediate) level.
King’s College is a world-famous prestigious university in the heart of London. It is consistently ranked among the top Universities in both the UK and the world. Classes take place in the Virginia Woolf building, whilst meals and activities take place in the main building on the Strand, next to Somerset House.
The social programme is an important part of any summer school experience and is a great way for students to socialise and practise their English with each other. Complementing the English lessons, students have two hours each day of highly practical and hands on tuition in Science, Technology & Engineering. During their studies, students will investigate, experiment, design and even construct a product, thus following a process from an initial idea to its final completion. These 10-day courses are designed to provide that all important boost for international students before joining a GCSE, A Level or IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma programme in the UK.

For many international students, particularly for those whose proficiency in English is not as high as might be desired, it can be a very daunting task stepping into a British independent boarding school for the first time. ProEd Summer Experiences are hosted at Imperial College, London, a top-10 world ranked university. Situated in South Kensington, right in the heart of the ‘Albertropolis’, the area is famous for its Edwardian architecture. Immerse yourself in the rich history that South Kensington has to offer,just a stone's throw away from the Royal Albert Hall and the Natural History, Science and Victoria & Albert museums. Most of the student halls are situated on campus, providing ample opportunity to explore the famous vicinity. With Harrods and Hyde Park on hte doorstep, students will never be short of things to do in their time out of class.
Leadership develops through a combination of knowledge, tools and experience. Designed as a progressive curriculum that continuously stretches pupils in a supportive and encouraging environment, LIRA is a transformative 2-week development programme for 14-16 year that enables young people to learn, explore and practice the foundations of how to lead themselves and others through a combination of personal coaching, experiential learning and fun excursions.
Run by a team of subject matter experts more usually found within the corporate environment, programme content is delivered using in-person priming sessions followed by individual and group exercises, all of which focus and relate back to the four themes of leading; caring; connecting and exploring. Week one focuses on leadership skills acquisition which are then put into practice over the weekend in a ‘real- life’ simulation experience.
Week two allows students to explore global challenges, applying their newly acquired skills to lead change.

This is a superbly organized academic course designed for international students who are entering a British boarding school to start A Levels or the IB, or who would like a “taste” of British education for the summer. The course includes 7.5 hours per week of intensive English language, with a focus on academic English. Students also study Drama as well as 3-5 other subjects. There is a full programme of cultural visits, sports and social activities inlcuding trips to Oxford, Bath and Bristol.
A highlight is the opportunity to interact with British student hosts, providing plenty of chances to practise speaking English and make friends. The hosts are on campus at least 50 hours each week. The course includes a formal dinner and dance and full day excursions to cities such as Cambridge, Oxford or London. This is a full-time course with activities every day, including weekends. It is run by Etherton Education, founded in 2002 and with an excellent reputation for preparing students for study in UK schools.
