About This Course

Academic Summer – Westminster offers an immersive academic and cultural experience for students aged 13–17, set in one of London’s most iconic locations. Situated directly opposite the Houses of Parliament and overlooking the River Thames, the programme places students at the heart of the city, with world-famous landmarks and cultural institutions right on their doorstep.

The programme is hosted at DLD College London, a modern, purpose-built educational campus designed to support older students studying away from home. Students stay as boarders in single ensuite rooms, with accommodation, classrooms, dining facilities and social spaces all located under one roof. This integrated setting ensures comfort, convenience and safety, supported by 24-hour supervision and dedicated on-site staff.

Academically, the programme follows a Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach, combining subject content with English language development. Through hands-on, project-based learning, students strengthen their communication skills while engaging with meaningful academic themes. Lessons are taught in small classes by experienced teachers who encourage critical thinking, collaboration and confident self-expression in English.

The curriculum is designed around London itself, turning the city into an extended classroom. Each week introduces a new theme inspired by the capital’s history, culture, innovation and global influence. Classroom learning is closely connected to real-world experiences, allowing students to explore academic concepts through excursions, discussions and creative projects. This approach helps learners deepen their understanding while developing transferable academic and language skills.

Beyond lessons, students take part in a carefully planned leisure and cultural programme. Supervised academic field trips and afternoon excursions allow students to explore major landmarks, museums, galleries and neighbourhoods across London. Evenings and weekends offer a balance of social activities and relaxation, helping students build friendships with peers from around the world and develop independence in a supportive environment.

With modern facilities, single ensuite accommodation, and a central London location, Academic Summer – Westminster is ideally suited to older students ready for a more independent learning experience. The programme combines academic excellence, cultural immersion and personal growth, giving students the confidence, skills and global perspective needed for future study while creating unforgettable summer memories in the heart of London.
