The Junior Academic course offers young students a fun and hands on learning experience. Specially designed to engage young learners, this course offers a range of stimulating learning experiences in English.
Class sizes are small (maximum 10 students per class) and students are taught by specialist teachers, offering a range of subjects from Art, DT and Performing Arts to Science, Mathematics, ICT and Humanities. Students will receive 15 hours of English plus 10 hours of other academic subjects per week.
Aimed at encouraging experiential and thematic learning, students will spend at least one afternoon a week outside the classroom on project work in the local environment. Fun, active and stimulating, this course will build confidence in communicative English as well as preparing students academically.
This course is ideal as a stand-alone course for students who wish to boost their English level and confidence or for those wishing to enter into the British independent school system.

This course is especially designed to prepare younger students who are keen to learn and have a great summer experience. Many will start at a UK boarding school in September and others would like to have a taste of British boarding school life. Students study a full timetable of English and all their main academic subjects. There are two trips a week, and a busy programme of sports, social activities and clubs. All students take part in a Drama Show and a Formal Dinner.
Etherton employs British Student Hosts to help play games, look after and mentor their students. They are on site 50 hours a week after lessons to ensure students have plenty of chances to practise chatting in English with educated native speakers of the language.
Wellilngton School is located in the small, safe Somerset town of Wellington, surounded by beautiful green countryside. Accommodation is in shared rooms, with one, two or three other students. Resident staff are on hand 24-hours a day. The school has wonderful sports facilities, inlcuding a swimming pool, tennis courts and Astro pitch.
This course provides excellent preparation for students before they move into their new boarding schools in September. They will understand the expectations of British schools and will be used to the routines and rules. They will feel stronger and more confident about their future education.
