SKOLA's English Summer School at Gloucester Gate by Regent's Park, London is perfect for younger students taking their first steps in English.

Students develop their English in the morning and have a hot lunch in the on-site canteen. In the afternoon students continue learning English through art, music, drama and sport.

They visit the best sights and museums in London once a week and can join the Discover England excursion on Saturday if a parent accompanies them on the trip.

Set in 250 acres in an area of outstanding natural beauty, pupils choose from five different modules, depending on their interests. These will form the majority of their timetables, with evening and weekend activities all together. Pupils choose two modules out of the five per week and can change these each week that they are with us or keep them the same if they wish.  We are offering pupils two exciting choices per week from Outdoor Pursuits, EAL, Creative Arts (Painting, Drawing, Pottery & Design), Performing Arts (Theatre, Music & Dance Studio) and Sport.

By choosing from the exciting modules, students will experience a wide variety of social, creative, and skill-based activities. The aim is to encourage students to develop not only their ability to read, write and speak English, but also their confidence, independence, self-awareness and life skills. Groups will be kept small, ensuring an unrivalled attention to the quality of teaching and learning, and a fun and unforgettable life experience for each attendee. Students can choose any combination of the modules each week that they are with us. This approach encourages them to fully engage with the course content. For those who choose to take the Learn English modules, they will receive 15 hours of tuition per week.

There is an emphasis on ‘normal life’ where students are learning how to use their language skills in social settings, becoming familiar with idioms and everyday phrases. The courses are managed, hosted and run by Malvern College staff.

It is ideal for students on their first trip away from home and those looking for more attention than a typical summer camp. Designed to help students communicate confidently in English, the dynamic syllabus is created by Bucksmore's Academic team specifically for juniors in a summer school environment and is suitable for all levels from beginner to proficient.

The 'English Plus' option includes specialist workshops in the following: 

- Science and Technology - By combining the Bucksmore Summer syllabus with specialist workshops, students are introduced to both Science & Technology subjects through workshops run by experts. Example weekly themes include aeronautics, robotics, engineering and forensics.

- Performing Arts  - (London) By combining the Bucksmore Summer syllabus with specialist workshop, students who have an interest in Performing Arts will have the opportunity to develop their skills through practical workshops delivered by our partners West End on Demand.

- Adventure - Our English Plus course encourages students to go outside their comfort zone with an award-winning English curriculum and unique subject-specific experiences. - Media Production - By combining the Bucksmore Summer syllabus with specialist media production workshops, students develop skills in blogging, vlogging, podcasting and music production.  Students will produce content across themes such as news and current affairs, advertising and marketing.

- Biodiversity and Design - By combining the Bucksmore Summer syllabus with specialist workshops, English ‘Plus’ courses take students out of their comfort zone by providing them with the unique experience of promoting their passions and gaining a deeper understanding of a specific subject.

Students are streamed by age and ability and are tested at the beginning of the course and placed in a class of the appropriate level. During the course, teachers monitor students’ progress and an academic report and a certificate are awarded at the end of the course. Our syllabus is designed to suit the needs of our students, providing them with practical language skills. The aim of the course is to improve English comprehension skills, along with grammar and pronunciation,as well as building confidence in communicating through English.

General English classes are comprised of three hours per day of teaching time, five days per week. All English teachers are suitably qualified and our courses are accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English in the UK.

Language Activities In addition to General English classes, all students on the English plus Activity courses experience a wide range of activities designed to give them the opportunity to develop new skills, whilst using their spoken English in a specific context. Students move on to a new activity each day, including: journalism, creative writing/storytelling, mindfulness workshops, vlogging, cookery, drama, and arts and crafts. Classes last for 90 minutes and focus on the development of speaking and listening skills.

Sports A fantastic mixture of sports are offered to students each day. They can practice their skills or use the opportunity to learn new ones with our sports and activity leaders, who ensure that thehighest levels of safety are maintained at all times. week.Activities Include

This course is a fully-inclusive programme designed  for children aged 8-17. It will improve your child's English, whilst offering them the chance to spend time practising the sport that they love, alongside taking part in other group activities and  excursions. They will have the chance to make friends from all over the world and experience new cultures in a safe, secure campus environment.  The Summer Course plus Horse Riding is run at the beautiful Downside School, near the historic city of Bath. For horse riding students will receive tuition at a locally approved stables in walking, trotting, cantering, jumping, hacking and horse management (according to level).

Sherborne Language School is a new innovative summer school for students aged 8-17. Located in the picturesque Dorset town of Sherborne, in the South West of the UK, we offer intensive small-group, high-quality English Language Learning and a wide range of activities for young learners to expand and practise their English in a native setting.


Students will build lifelong friendships in and out of the classroom, on the exciting day trips and excursions and through the broad range of evening and leisure activities. The friendly and experienced staff aim to make every student’s experience unique and memorable from start to finish.

With a minimum of 15 hours of formal English lessons each week, pupils take part in a number of exciting activities, offered by expert instructors. Activities can include, but are not limited to abseiling, bushcraft, caving, fell walking, ghyll scrambling, kayaking/canoeing, orienteering rafting and rock climbing.

Since 2012, Stonyhurst has united pupils from across the world to experience a Summer like no other. This programme is designed for children looking to improve their English Language alongside tennis tuition. In selecting this course, pupils have access to Stonyhurst’s high-performance facilities which include a tennis dome which houses 2 Grand Slam tennis courts and intensive coaching delivered by a team of Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Senior Performance Tennis and Academy Coaches.

Collingham – Family programme

Designed for families visiting London. Parents can study with us or enjoy free time. 

Classes are held in one building in Kensington, central London, 5 mins walk from Gloucester Road and Earl’s Court Underground Stations.

Students can study for 1-7 weeks from late June to early August. 

All students have 15 hours’ tuition per week with classes from Monday to Friday in the mornings (09:00-12:30). Afternoon programme (13:30 – 17:00) subject to demand. 

Juniors (5-17 years): Task based classes are lively and fun. Emphasis on improving spoken English whilst learning new grammar. Weekly study visit to one of the Kensington museums a 20-25 minute walk away. 

Adults (18+ years): Most adult students have children studying with us. Classes are lively and fun covering grammar, reading, writing, speaking, listening and pronunciation. Emphasis on real world day-to-day topics.

Bucksmore English aims to build strong fluency and enhance English oral and written communication skills through a fun and dynamic language curriculum. Students develop their English skills through a variety of engaging sessions, including academic tutorials, group projects, conversation classes, and hands-on excursions that take learning outside the classroom. Our course also builds strong interpersonal skills such as teamwork, creativity, and confidence through project-based learning and mentorship. Student progress is tracked and assessed at the end of each course by Bucksmore Assessment, an evaluation tool developed in alignment with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) scale.

Sherborne Language School is a new innovative summer school for students aged 9-17. The course works exclusively with Sherborne Tennis Academy in offering a full range of professional tennis coaching options for those wishing to combine this with their English studies, as well as those who wish to “live the life" of an elite tennis professional by joining the Intensive Tennis Camp (see below) on a daily or residential basis this summer.

This Junior Adventurers course is an academic, fun packed course for young learners. Students attend from  08.15 - 17.15 from Monday to Friday.  Adventurers are 7-12 years old and they engage in project-based, cross-curricular learning, fostering creativity, critical thinking and interdisciplinary understanding.  They choose one of the following streams each week:

The timetable includes a full range of academic subjects including maths, English, science, social studies and arts. Lessons are cross-curricular and differentiated for all abilities. The trips and activities fit into  weekly themes bringing the lessons to life. Children are taught by experienced primary school teachers who know how this age group learn best.

The course is ideal for children wishing to get a taster at a UK preparatory school and get a head start over his/her classmates. It is an opportunity to meet and communicate with other children from a wide range of countries and cultures including native English speakers.

SKOLA's English Summer School at Regent's University inside Regent's Park, London is perfect for students looking to learn English and discover other cultures.

Students develop their English in the morning and have a hot lunch in the on-site canteen. In the afternoon students have fun playing sports in Regent's Park or artistic activities.

They visit the best sights and museums in London two times per week and end with presentations and a party. The 6-day course includes a full-day Discover England excursion on Saturday.

Bede's Eastbourne centre is located on the coast, in the seaside town of Eastbourne and safely connected to the beach. This compact centre, founded as the first Bede’s School in 1895, has the feel of a family home and offers a safe and welcoming environment for our youngest students. The academic, social and cultural programme is carefully designed to educate and inspire our youngest learners.

The Little Explorers course is full of lessons, activities, events and excursions that give students a great introduction to the UK. Lessons are in small classes with a syllabus and materials perfect for young learners. Activities make use of our outstanding facilities and are designed around the interests of younger students.

The evening entertainment programme provides an opportunity for recreation and fun and is designed to immerse students in the English language and culture in a stimulating and innovative way.

Excursions enable students to visit places of interest, students will go on a half-day trip on Wednesday afternoons and full-day trips on Saturdays and Sundays to our exciting range of historic, cultural and fun attractions and destinations.

Bede's Summer School Windlesham is set in beautiful grounds which extend over many acres of the Sussex Downs countryside of West Sussex, between the villages of Washington and Findon, north of the town of Worthing.

The spacious campus, which welcomes up to 130 students per week, creates a real sense of freedom and connection to nature. Combined with the secure and safe location, this makes Windlesham the perfect site for young children who want to be part of a small, lively community. Young people’s innate curiosity about the natural world can be harnessed to engage them about their relationship with nature and present and future global ecological challenges.

In this programme, our students develop their English communication skills through their experience of learning about, and learning in nature. This fully-inclusive programme includes sports and activities every afternoon. Professional academies are available in a variety of sports and other activities. The evening entertainment programme provides an opportunity for recreation and fun and is designed to immerse students in the English language and culture in a stimulating and innovative way. Excursions enable students to visit places of interest. These can include a cultural visit to a castle, museum or palace, a visit to a popular tourist attraction such as Big Ben, the London Eye, Madame Tussauds or something more recreational such as a trip to an aquarium, theme park or zoo.

The Junior Academic course offers young students a fun and hands on learning experience. Specially designed to engage young learners, this course offers a range of stimulating learning experiences in English.

Class sizes are small (maximum 10 students per class) and students are taught by specialist teachers, offering a range of subjects from Art, DT and Performing Arts to Science, Mathematics, ICT and Humanities. Students will receive 15 hours of English plus 10 hours of other academic subjects per week.

Aimed at encouraging experiential and thematic learning, students will spend at least one afternoon a week outside the classroom on project work in the local environment. Fun, active and stimulating, this course will build confidence in communicative English as well as preparing students academically.

This course is ideal as a stand-alone course for students who wish to boost their English level and confidence or for those wishing to enter into the British independent school system.

The Summer School has been running since 1970 at Hurtwood House, a family run boarding school with an international reputation for academic excellence and fantastic facilities. The Summer School offers structured and lively English language teaching combined with a fun and interesting range of trips and activities. The school is in an idyllic, safe location in the Surrey countryside within easy reach of London.

This is a resisential course.  All levels of English catered for.  Not suitable for English native speakers.

The Glastonbury Campus is ideal for younger children who want to improve their English whilst making friends from all over the world and take part in a wide range of sports and other activities. Morning options inlcude General English or Academic Explorers which is suitable for children from age 9-11 with a higher level of English and involves improving language skills through studying other academic subjects.

The school is located in Glastonbury and excursions are arranged to local castles, museums and amusement parks. This is a residential course with 24-hour supervision. Afternoon activities include cooking, dance, football, golf, horse riding, swimming, tennis, and outdoor adventurers.* The course is held on the campus of Millfield Prep Schoo which has fantastic facilities including a riding arena and climbing wall.  

*  Students are assessed on arrival and put into the appropriate level group for Academic Explorers.

* There is an option of taking a Trinity exam. This can be taken at the end of week 2 and 4. The exam is a spoken exam, however not mandatory.

* The option for horse riding is available to the Street campus.

* The Glastonbury campus offers a petting of the horses.

Tuition  

The English language courses provide 15 hours of tuition per week, with Academic Explorers:

• Academic Explorers - suitable for all abilities with students participating. Students will also be able to develop their language learning skills by studying specific subjects such as history, geography, environmental sustainability, science, maths, and creative writing.

Activities & Clubs    

A wide range of energetic and creative activities are offered for students to take part in for four afternoons a week.
