The evening entertainment programme provides an opportunity for recreation and fun and is designed to immerse students in the English language and culture in a stimulating and innovative way. Excursions enable students to enjoy visiting places of interest. These can include a memorable cultural visit to a castle, museum or palace, a visit to a popular tourist attraction such as Big Ben, the London Eye, Madame Tussauds or something more recreational such as a trip to an aquarium, theme park or zoo.

Each week students receive 12.5 hours of formal English lessons plus 10 hours of tuition in a course of their choice. They either study Core English or Advanced English depending on ability. Core English iis for students of levels A1-B2. Lesson focus on the 4 key skills of Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening as well as vocabulary and grammar. The Advanced English classes are perfect for students who are already proficient in English at levels C1-C2. They will study literature, public speaking, creative writing and avanced aural skills.
In the evenings, students enjoy a full and varied recreational timetable with sports and activities to complement their learning. Excursions are seen as an integral part of the Summer School programme and are included at weekends. Our trips are designed to extend the classroom curriculum and to provide exciting and enriching cultural experiences.

TWO courses are offered: Intensive English Language and Advanced English. The course is run alongside the school's day camps for local children, and all activities are shared between British and international children, resulting in total immersion in the English language. Having run for ten years, the summer school is delivered and staffed by Bromsgrove School employees and ex-pupils, providing a safe and comfortable experience. Pastoral care is second to none, with the summer school adhering to the same high standards as Bromsgrove's year-round programme.
Course fees are fully inclusive and cover airport transfers, accommodation, meals and snacks, laundry service, all lessons and activities, two day trips and one evening excursion per week, and transfers to/from Birmingham or Heathrow airport. The activities sessions are also attended by local day pupils so that the international pupils have the chance to practise their English naturally. Activities on offer include a massive selection – sports, creative arts and technology, dance, fitness, cookery, team games and just about anything else you can think of! Full day excursions are included to destinations such as Alton Towers, Drayton Manor, Shakespeare’s Stratford, Oxford and London.

Age groups are 8-11 and 12 -15 (parents are welcome to accompany children aged 5-7).
For 2024, there is a choice of multi activities with local British children attending the day camps, STEM, or Performing arts. STEM Course Juniors (8 – 11) and Seniors (12-15)
Children spend half their day improving their English during fun and interactive lessons. Ther remainder of the day is spent alongside British children attending the day camps, giving your child the opporunity to immerse themselves full in an English-speaking environment.
The Intensive English course i designed to develop practical language skills using a topic-based approach, together with debating and presentations across 20 hours per week.
Children have activity options: football, tennis, swimming, volleyball,, basketball, trampolining - arts & craft (cookery, jewellery making and more, STEM activities - robotics, computer coding, astronomy plus performing arts - singing, dance and drama.
This summer school is managed and operated entirely by Bromsgrove School and its staff, maintaining the same high standards as the year-round school programme with outstanding pastoral care. Many of the new year round students attend the summer school before enroling in the main school.

The trip will wrap up with a magical visit to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter, where you'll step into the wizarding world to relive the magic of these beloved films, before travelling to Sedbergh to continue your Summer School journey, joining our English + Multi-Activities programme for the remainder of the week. Pupils will travel by coach to Sedbergh and arrive on 1st July where all children will take part in a multi activities course until Saturday 5th July. For their second week children will then enrol on their chosen programme of English + Creative Arts or English + Multi Activities or English + Multi Sports or English + Outdoor Adventure or Leadership and International Relations Academy.
