Taunton School Junior Summer School is based at Taunton School, a beautiful 56-acre campus, and taught by highly qualified and experienced teachers. We pride ourselves on creating a safe, happy and nurturing environment and have been educating students at our Summer School for over 25 years.

Our fees are all-inclusive covering the tuition, teaching materials, accommodation, sports coaching, full academic report and course certificate, food, laundry, activities, insurance, excursions and airport transfers to selected airports (between published times on transfer days).

Junior Academic: Students on our Academic Programme study four different academic themes over 25 hours during the two weeks: People and Place, Scientific Enquiry, Applied Mathematics and Creativity and the Arts. Students are encouraged to think creatively, take risks and draw on their own experiences and the experiences of others.

Junior Cookery: Our exciting Junior Cookery course provides our younger students with two and a half hours of practical cookery each day, using excellent kitchen facilities at Taunton School. Students not only learn how to cook delicious, healthy food and significantly improve their culinary skills, they also learn about British Cuisine and where our food comes from, the seasonality of food, its nutritional value and the importance of a balanced diet.

Junior Multi-Sports: This course features two and a half hours of a different sport every day, from the more traditional sports of football, tennis, athletics, and swimming to the less widely known sports of rugby, cricket, rounders, and netball. Vocabulary learning is an integral part of the programme, with many new words associated with the numerous sports on offer being woven into their lessons.

Junior STEM: Students are introduced to the world of computer programming and robotics. This is a great opportunity to develop a greater understanding of computer logic and the sequencing of programming instructions.

Junior English Enrichment: Students who select the English Enrichment course will study Core English where they will develop their Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening skills. In their English Enrichment Course, students will be able to apply these newly learnt English language skills by learning to apply them through: Public Speaking, Creative writing, literature and Debating.

All students receive at least 20 hours of English classes and can choose between our Core English or Advanced English classes. In addition, students have full access to Taunton School’s outstanding facilities where they take part in a variety of different activities every afternoon, as well as getting the opportunity to go on up to five excursions to explore the local area and historic cities.

We provide free airport transfers for Students travelling to either Bristol or Heathrow airport, on any of our arrival/departure Saturdays between 9:00 – 18:00. We will also have someone at the arrivals lounge ready to meet you, and to help you with check-in on your departure!
