This is a superbly organized academic course designed for international students who are entering a British boarding school to start A Levels or the IB, or who would like a “taste” of British education for the summer. The course includes 10 hours per week of intensive English language plus Drama as well as up to 10 other subjects. There is a full programme of cultural visits, sports and social activities. IB Introduction Course

St. Clare’s International School is located in the beautiful city of Oxford, which is famous around the world as a centre for academic excellence. Taunton School - Senior Course

Academic Summer School - Senior

The Senior Academic course is aimed at all those aspiring and motivated students who want to be challenged and have a deeper learning experience.

Each day in classes, students are taught three hours of intensive English with two hours of other academic subjects and we expect our students to be ambitious and willing to work hard.

Students benefit from small class sizes (maximum 10 students per class), with many of our year-round subject-specialist teachers providing the highest quality education. Students will receive 15 hours of English plus 10 hours of other academic subjects per week.

Classes focus on academic rigour and are complemented by lessons and lectures involving motivational speakers and study skills practice.

At the end of the three-week course, all students sit an external English examination leading to certification.

In the evenings, students enjoy a full and varied recreational timetable with sports and activities to complement their learning.

Excursions are seen as an integral part of the Summer School programme and are included at weekends. Our trips are designed to extend the classroom curriculum and to provide exciting and enriching cultural experiences.
