This is a superbly organized academic course designed for international students who are entering a British boarding school to start A Levels or the IB, or who would like a “taste” of British education for the summer. The course includes 10 hours per week of intensive English language plus Drama as well as up to 10 other subjects. There is a full programme of cultural visits, sports and social activities. A highlight is the opportunity to interact with British student hosts, providing plenty of chances to practise speaking English and make friends. The course includes a formal dinner and dance. This is a full- time course with activities every day, including weekends. This intensive academic course provides a boarding experience for international students. It also offers ideal GCSE and A Level preparation for those who plan to study at a UK boarding school. The Taunton School Senior Summer School is ideal for students who are preparing for exams or are going on to a British boarding school. The Senior Summer courses in July and August are for students between the ages of 13 and 17, and combine intensive English tuition with other academic subjects.This course is excellent preparation for GCSEs, A levels and the IB Diploma. Students take an ESOL examination at the end of their course. Lessons are complemented by a full leisure programme including sports as well as a varied programme of activities and excursions to local cities and places of interest.
